As the other Aunts mentioned, it could be an ingrown hair, a raised pimple or even a 'boil'. Boils are like very big pimples..that are inflamed and terribly painful. When in doubt--Check it out, dear. See your doctor or health care provider.

Yeah, it could be anything from an ingrown hair to a pimple to a genital wart, etc...
Safe thing to do is go to the doc, but since you can't get in for a month, call the office and ask if you can speak with the doctor, a nurse or your doctor's assistant. Tell them you have a question about something personal that you don't feel can wait a month. Doctors are usually good about either calling you back or having one of their nurses talk to you.
Good luck.

It could be an ingrowing hair or an infection of some kind, but the only way you will know for sure is by visiting your gp and getting them to check it out.

Well, where specificially this bump is located in the "down there" region I am not sure, but it could be a number of things. I could be a sebaceous cyst (totally harmless, kind of like a zit) or it might be something else. Most STD's manifest themselves through rather fowl-smelling odors, and discharges, itching, burning and inflammation of your inner and/or outer female parts. If you aren't having any of these symptoms, and you can't get an appt. sooner, just keep and eye on this bump and if you develop any changes, such as a fever, or new symptoms around the bump, such as reddening, or swelling, ask for an immediate appointment and tell them it's an emergency. They have to factor time in their schedules for emergencies.
