Question - (14 October 2007) 3 Answers - (Newest, 15 October 2007)
A male United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

hi, i dont know what to do or where to go but my situation is severely in despair, nor do i wish to be selfish but im very very depressed. what makes matters worse im only 19 and in higher education, and no such person should be in such a situation, especially considering my age and the life we live in nowadays.

my situation is this: for about just over a year now my closest and dearest friends have become distant the reason being unknown. these are the friends that i would be with at school everyday and in college, some of them i have known since pre-school. they are still all close with each other - yesterday they went out as it was one of their birthday, he did not invite me. they always go out whether it be to cinema, clubbing, go karting, paintballing, all the fun you could think of, or just a night in, and very rarely do i get invited, and if i do it would be because of my interferance and when i do i feel im not wanted as they dont talk to me like in the past. all in all i do not see them anymore, they do not talk to me, even though i do love them. i do not deserve this, i do feel that there is something missing inside of me, i do feel very depressed, and to such extents so bad that dearcupid rejected my original post due to what i said before broke some rules.

i understand that this may not be the appropriate website to post but again i dont know what to do. i have used dearcupid before for a relationship issue and i thank those who replied for all their suggestions were very helpful. please help me again.

People change as time goes on, and you all may not be the same people you used to be. It might be a good idea to talk to them and see their perspective- they may not realize they're hurting you. I rarely talk to people I went to HS with much anymore. Also, if you don't know Him, Jesus promises to love us and to be our friend through thick and thin- He will never betray us. Just ask Him to be yours. It's your choice, but I'll be praying for you. I hope you find someone that you an talk to that will be who you need at this time.

Can you not join another club, make another set of friends? Go to a nightclass, something light hearted, not heavy like Maths. Get yourself out there and stuff your so called friends. If you feel a need to still be with them, then ask them what is wrong. Ask outright what you have done to deserve being treat like this. If they cannot come up with an answer then move on. If they do, and it is something that you have done wrong, then say you are sorry, put it right and ask them out for a beer.

take care

xx

One of them must be more special to you than the other. Meet him alone and ask what is going on. Do you have an attitude? Fail to pay your share of the costs? Contridict the consesus of the group? Make adverse comments or joke about any of the members?
