Try the two steps forward, one step back approach if you want; give him a sidelong glance but then look away shyly. Being mysterious usually attracts guys like that, or at least from my experience. Being there momentarily but then going so he's left wanting more also works, but this is really only effective when you still acknowledge him and flirt back occasionally; otherwise you can appear standoffish.
