I don't trust him at all and worry for my friend. What should I do to help?

A female United States age 51-59, anonymous writes:

A friend of mine is dating a guy that I think I may need to talk to her about. I have had concerns about him before, because, while he is a nice guy, I've learned that he has over $30,000 in cc debt and had this much 2 years about but rolled it over into his mortgage (my friend doesn't know this). He is now in the process of trying to refinance his house, I suspect to pay off this new cc debit since the guy is broke all the time. I honestly don't know how he pays his bills making little more than minimum wage. I also found out that he was in a year long relationship with another woman when he met her (she didn't tell me this) and was cheating on his girlfriend with my friend. She was aware of this but didn't want me to know. She seems totally happy with him right now, and states they are in love, but I don't like the fact that she's doesn't seem to really realize about his financial situation. Couple this with his deception with his previous girlfriend, and it makes me believe this guy hides a lot. I don't trust him anymore and am concerned for my friend. They seem totally happy, and she believes this is the "one" but I just can't believe it. Suggestions?

Your concerns about his cheating sound very valid.

But I suspect you would not be asking this question if you thought this guy was wealthy.
