How to win this girl back?

A male United States age 36-40, *ayes88 writes:

So the story is that there's this girl who used to like me (a lot), as I myself was crazy about her. Things were going great between us until a little misunderstanding got in the way. She had heard from her nosy girl friends that I was into someone else. I wasn't. She was the only one I liked.

Well... the problem is I'm a very shy and passive person. When faced with a serious issue I will choose to avoid it. So when this girl confronted me about the misunderstanding, I decided not to give her any answers and just left her thinking whatever she wanted to think. Needless to say, she believed her girl friends and decided to cut all ties with me.

It's been 1 and a half year since we saw each other. I haven't stopped thinking about her since. I miss her so much but I'm too shy to call or text her. I wouldn't know what to say and it'd end up being awkward. Should I continue pursuing this girl or move on since it's been so long already? If yes, how do I talk to her again without making it awkward? Will she be mad at me for waiting so long to work things out?

Honeypie agony auntIf you are so shy that you can't even man up and tell her that her friend misunderstood or lied to her - HOW can you even conduct a relationship with this girl?

Honey, I understand being shy and non-confrontational - but look at where that got you?

I would suggest you let this one go, learn from this. IT IS OK to stand up for yourself.

Don't look down, approach her, be like "sorry for the troubles in the past, may I please have a second chance" give it a happy mood not a darksadserious mood.. Be really humble even though you weren't at fault. If you love the person enough you can overcome insecurity and shyness, be yourself :)
