I shower everyday, use soap, shave, use anti-perspirant blah blah blah, but I heard that zinc can help a lot in reducing B.O. so we got some zinc tablets and I was just wondering what dosage I should take. If I take too much it could affect my absorption of other minerals but I want to take enough to make a difference. I think each one has 22mg (but I could be wrong) if I took one every other day would that be good? Thx Reply to this Question Share |

The current RDA of Zinc is 7mg for women and 9.5mg for men, higher doses are sometimes given under DOCTORS advise only.
Too much Zinc can impair immunity, lower HDL (good cholesterol) Some say that too much zinc can cause Alzheimer's (although this isn't proven yet). And in the short term diarrhoea nausea and vomiting can occur.
Speak to your doctor in the long run it will be much safer.

You shouldn't even THINK about taking zinc to control body odour based on some nonsense you've read on the Internet.
Zinc is something that is important to have as part of a balanced diet... but nearly everyone gets enough in their diet.
If you start taking zinc pills you risk upsetting the balance of vitamins and minerals in your body and you will almost certainly get a very upset stomach.
Your best bet is to try out different brands of deoderant to find one that works best for you, rather than putting your health at risk.
