Is this your daughter or an younger relative? And you are looking to guide her? Eight years olds are are amazing and very astute. Probably the best way is for you to tell her, to just be respectful, honest and truthful. It's always hard to break up with a friend, but it will teach her skills for when she gets older. And what a bright little girl, if she knows this friend may not be an appropriate friend. Kindness, but truth and honesty is the best way.
