Hi,Meditation and yoga could help you. Also, run a tub fullof the warmest water you can stand, sit in it for as long as you can, then just before you get out of the tub, take the plug out, but stay there and let the warm water go out of the tub, you should feel the tension leaving your body, as the water drains out of the tub. Hope it works for you. Take care.

Music is my stress buster as well as walking really fast. I hope this works for you.
take care

Yes it's true, thinking about it, that I have been trying to be perfect for my partner, who is very critical of me (but ever critical of himself). This is on top of a full time demanding job and supporting my children through college etc. I often try to laugh at stuff but my partner makes everything heavy and angry and I was thinking the other day that I have forgotten how to laugh about things. My partner is also very controlling and will comment on just about EVERYTHING we do in the house, from small things in the kitchen, to which lights we have left on etc etc and if it's not something in the house it will be something in the papers that makes him moan and it infects the rest of us in the house. Just everything is made into an issue and it sucks the fun out of life. I am going to back to my yoga class at the gym, do some swimming and take up a new hobby. I'm having a break from my partner at the moment so maybe this is a good time to rediscover how to laugh again and deal with stress more easily. I used to be so much more lighthearted than this and I need to get it back again. Thank you again.

Learning how to deal with stress, is like learning how to stop taking yourself (and life) so seriously. I suspect your level of intensity is greater than some. So you must practice ways to re-focusing your mind in order to relax. Deep breathing helps some people. Reading or watching something funny. Using mental pictures of peaceful water, or imagine yourself walking on a beach with a beautiful sunset calms some people down. Exercise, like Laura1318 suggested is always a good way to expend energy so it's not ping-ponging around in your body making you a mess. But the most important thing you can do for yourself is step back and realize that everything doesn't have to be perfect. And give yourself permission to laugh more often, at yourself, at situations, at life. Trying to please everyone, and be perfect is a sure way to make you feel stressed out all the time. Relax. You are only human. Once you master the art of just accepting things you will find that you are not so stressed out anymore. Good luck.

Its easy,
Get a hobbie that you love doing. Everytime that you feel the stress coming on, just disapear and do your hobbie, even if its for an hour or so.
I promise it really does work.

My favourite HEALTHY remedies for stress are
**bit of yoga**
**exercising**
**sauna**
**comedy programmes lol**
**drawing/art/poetry**
**listening to music**
**have a good long complain then cheer up**
**talking to friends**
**reading a good magazine or book**
some less healthy remedies for stress
**glass of wine**
**half a pint of beer*
[don't have more than this per 2 days though]
**a cigarette once in a while**
[don't get hooked though trust me]
the thing is dont bottle it up, bottling up stress and anger can drive a person insane.......

Exercise is a good way to de stress because it takes your mind of the problems and you feel more relax.
