How do you deal with someone who only cares about themselves?

How do you deal with someone who only cares about themselves? This guy use to be nice to me but now all of a sudden it seems like he doesn't care about anyone. He ignores me, but it has gotten better. I can't tell my feelings for him that he is a jerk who never wants to be with me even though were close friends. He always wants to know information from me or he brags to me that hes smarter. Of course when he got into Skills USA I was jealous and he brags how hes getting his license. I hate it and am really getting annoyed by it. How can I deal with this problem.
