helpjayne agony auntyou can either just say i saw this really nice necklace today walkin past this shop n it's not that expensive he might get the hint but if hes a dosy guy walk him byy the shop and point out what you like. or flick through a catalogue and gasp and make a comment and if he asks you what say look how pretty this is or if you need anything repared you can go in the shop then hint.

I'm sure you do, but I think it would be more realistic to tell him you'd like a nice box of chocolates unless he's got a private income or rich parents!

If he HAS got lots to spend you could walk him by the jewellery store window and point out some trinket that you like, but be sure to give him something of equal value in return if he gets it for you.
