I tried to handle the situation the best way i could, but he didn't take it well at all, and felt betrayed by the fact that i chose my boyfriend over him. He really is a fantastic friend and i love him to bits like, so i was really horrified to find out hes taking drugs. I know this is down to more than just what happened with me because he was abused by his dad when he was younger, and the rest of his family don't treat him well at all. I've recently started talking with him again, but he's very distant and cold, the complete opposite of his old self. I don't know wether its the fact that hes angry, or if its the drugs , or maybe both, but i can't stand to see him like that. He thinks hes fine because he thinks weed is a weak drug, and presumes it won't harm him, and no matter how hard i try to talk him round , he's not havin any of it. I really don't know what to do guys, its an awful situtation! He always tells me now how he doesnt care about me , and acts like he doesnt give a shit too, it makes me soo sad. I'm starting to question wether I feel for him romantically or not, because i let him off with everything and no matter what he does i always let him back. I need a way to help him, but how can i when he will barely talk. He has no support from his family, and his new friends are a bunch of losers who love to see him in trouble because they think its a great laugh. He thinks its all fine, butr how do i stop him from ruining his life ?? xx

hoenstly I think he's cold towards you because you rejected him, not because of the drugs.
weed doesn't make people cold hearted typically, sometimes sure, but in general it makes people chill, lazy and paranoid.
Unless he's on a harder drug, like meth, that steals away ppls personality then maybe it oculd be the drug. But it seems like he doesn't deal with rejection well

Well going out with him isn't going to save him. I don't condone drugs but weed is known as the lesser of drugs, still it's harmful and detrimental to his health in the long run. You can't help someone who doesn't want to help themselves..he's more concerned about hating the world and getting high in the process. Frankly, you don't need to be subject to that either. Tell him to straighten his act or you are done with this friendship. Then hope that it's a phase he's going through and one day he'll snap out of it.
