If you want a long distance relationship to work then ideally you have to see each other quite often otherwise you become distant and there is a lack of trust there.
Perhaps unless you're going to see more of each other it's best to end this relationship until you're in a more stable position (after getting your job sorted and stuff) then you can carry it on.
That way, it leaves the door open to both of you to find relationships with people who are closer by and so you can both have a better relationship that actually has a chance to develop; because at the moment, this one doesn't.

reader, anonymous, writes (9 December 2006): Having a relationship like that is very difficult to maintain and sometimes it's not ideal because you're going out of each others way to chat etc.
Obviously, being like this, no really intimate relationship is going to develop so if you ask me what's the point when you can have someone near you who'll be better for you in a relationship.
