 You could try telling him about what you have been up to and what plans you've got coming up, I agree with helpful girl you could try poems and things like that, there are plenty of sites you can go to online that list loads of funny, sweet, cute and loving poems that he might enjoy reading through as something different but I would just use one here and there when you want to text but feel you have nothing left to say to him.
