writes: Hi I am attracted to this new friend of mine and I don't know if he is gay but I really like him. I am quite straight acting and when we go out I put on a front but secretley I really, really like him. His background is that he has a string of long term relationships but has just ended his last long one and from which he has a child. When we go out we get a bit "touchy-feely" but perhaps that is just the alcohol. Is there any clues that I can look for? Maybe I owe it to him to tell him? Reply to this Question

reader, anonymous, writes (7 March 2006): I think you should get a little more intense with how you touch him and read the signs, a truely straight man will only be so affectionate with you, thats how i figured out that a friend of man was gay; i started being more bold with how and where i touched him

reader, anonymous, writes (19 February 2006): There are no clues - only answers: if you want to be really smooth, ask him how he feels about having a gay friend (read:you), or just go for the kill and utter the 3 magic words:
are you gay?
The answers to either of the above should make pretty clear which team he's playing on. Based on the kid, I'm inclined to say that it's entirely likely that he's into the ladies, though, so try to not be disappointed.
