How do get the one guy I like away from his pack of friends, and get to know him?

hey

I don't really know what to do.. so I won't beat about the bush:

There's somebody I like at school. His crowd of friends, including him, sometimes come to see me at lunch, and sometimes after they hug me - though all of them do this, not the specific guy.

He's never really on his own; it's as if he travels in a "pack". So what I want to know is, how do I get him specifically to notice me, and maybe get him on his own?

I'm kinda scared of commitment, so I wouldn't want to make the first move, but as he's younger than me, I dunno if he will either. If we end up going out, the only way I think this could happen is with one of his friends asking me.

it's a puzzle :)

any thoughts?

Maybe hes woried of asking you. A lot of guys wont even talk to a girl, even if they feel they have a connection, because they feel they will be rejected or rebuked and taunted. Just plainy ask the guy for a word. Sure, his mates may play around and shout "whhhhehhh" and stuff, but be prepared for that. Dont wait around and make that mistake of missing the chance.
