How could I have such a dream, while sleeping in my boyfriend's arms?

A female Cayman Islands age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I have a really great boyfriend, love him to the point where even the thought of hurting him fills me with guilt.

The other day, we fell asleep after doing chores and as he was holding me, I had the most graphic dream I have ever had featuring a co-worker.

I had a small crush on this man many months ago before my bf but never fantasized about him or anything. We never even flirted with each other. We are simply friendly.

And when it comes to intimacy, my boyfriend completely satisfies me, no issues there at all.

I woke up and he did too, asked me if I was okay. I felt horrible, how could I have such a dream while sleeping in my boyfriend's arms?

Phew! Thank you ladies :) both your answers had me smiling and feeling a LOT less guilty. I woke up right to my bf's cute face after that dream so I had felt like I had cheated (silly I know).

Don't worry and don't feel bad. I've had all kinds of weird sex dreams about men I'm not interested in, including (don't laugh) Duane "The Rock" Johnson, and my boss. Believe me, I absolutely love my husband and have zero desire to cheat. This happens to most people at some point I think.

Dreams are just your brain taking out the garbage. You can't control them, so don't sweat them.

Honeypie agony auntIt's a dream. WE have very little control over the content of our dreams. I had a VERY graphic and vivid one of one of my favorite actors while spooning my husband. And yes, it DID feel odd when I woke up (like I had cheated).

Dreams are weird. Years ago I also had one where my husband and I had a huge argument - something we RARELY do. And I woke up SO angry at him. I was literally MAD all day at him and HE had done nothing!

Maybe your sub-conscience was sorting out some emotions, filing away that old crush. It doesn't mean you WANT to be intimate with that other dude. Just that he has had a spot in your life.

Another interpretation could be:

When you dream about an old crush you are usually fantasizing about specific ideals that you want from love.
