I am 17 years old and i have never had a real boyfriend, I feel very self conscious and find it hard to trust people. Some of my friends have boyfriends and I don't exactly want to "follow the crowd" but do want to feel loved, how can I build on my self esteem and get lads to notice me without loosing myself?

A reader, anonymous, writes (21 February 2008):

I agree with what Laura said in the previous post. Get a new makeover, nothing to drastic, something subtle, but not over the top either. They did a survery on the radio and they said the best place to meet a new partner is at a theatre group. As well as boasting your confidence you will meet new people... so maybe join a new club or group, make new friends - widen your circle of friends and interests.

You don't kno where you could meet the man of your dreams....
