A age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I'm stressing out and don't know how to deal with it. I issues of my own, like finding a job and dealing with a death in my family. But my friends are making me feel stressed- my best friend gets herself into stupid situations and puts the blame on everyone else. She's also always bragging about her new cell phone or something she has. My other friend like dropped off the planet- I haven't seen her in over a month. A third friend is sometimes available, sometimes not- she only replies to text messages. My mom and sister tell me to get new friends, but it is easier said than done. (It's not like there is some "friend store" where one can get new people to hang out with.) I know I'm whining but my friends come to me with their problems, but rarely listen to mine. Maybe I need to see a therapist or something, but how can I deal with all of this stress and anxiety? The holidays are coming and I don't want to be a scrooge and drive people away. I just am hurting and need some advice. Thanks!

It seems you have some mountains to climb.Friends will not want to be your therapist. If you keep telling your friends about the crises in your life they will run,Even the best friends can't take too much.

I like to do yoga,it clears the mind and settles the nerves for me.I like to listen to inspirational music. Volunteering to help the less fortunate with my time lifts me far above my problems. It helps me understand others are going through it too.I have also found making peace with being along at times is very liberating.

Please take some time to yourself. Do somethings that you enjoy doing and don't take anyone else's situations in to your own hands. Keep looking for a jod, get some exercise, oh and lond steamy bubble baths are good stress relievers.
