writes: I have been going out with a man who works at the same place as me since July 2004. He recently told me that he was an illegal immigrant and is using a false passport. He has done nothing wrong to me but I don't want to go out with him anymore. I have packed him in several times but he will not go away. The thing is, because I am lonely and bored I end up seeing him again. A couple of weeks ago I made the decision to move on with my life so I ignored him but he won't give up and go away. He telephones me five times a day and keeps waiting around for me at work. I got so fed up with it all I decided it was easier to see him! I saw him valentines day and he spoiled me rotten but I know I don't really want him. I just don't know how to get rid of him. I've tried being nice to him, ignoring him, pretending I'm seeing someone else, etc. but he still won't stop hassling me.

reader, anonymous, writes (15 March 2005): I dont think this is all about passports or anything like that. It takes someone who loves you to be that honest with you. Tthe question is, why do you keep going back? If you know the best thing to do for yourself and him is give your brain a rest, and because you work at the same place, it's even harder for you. But if you love someone, whether they are illegal immigrants or not, it does not matter. It's love at the end of the day. Yyou should be proud that someone could share such a big secret with you and the police won't be a resolution to get that person away from you. The last thing you want to do is put yourself in front of the police and get the person you love in trouble and not be able to live with that. Let him get caught out instead of you being the one to sent him away. Think about it.

 You've packed him in several times? Who's not going away, you or him? If you keep going back to him then he's just going to think that you will continue to do this.Don't you get it? He's only after a passport! Report him to the police for harrassing you and to the immigration department.Buy yourself a rampant rabbit and get over him!
