A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey guys, I have a little girl trouble. I'll give you all the story.

Back when I was 13 I met a girl and I liked her the second I saw her, I'm not a strong believer in love at first sight, but if there ever was, this was it. We proceeded to spend the night together and had a blast. That night was one of the happiest nights of my life.

We continued talking and after 1 1/2 years we finally got together. She was two years older than me, and we had kept the relationship in secret. One day I went over and we kissed and it was the best kiss I had ever had. The next night we made out at a party, and so on.

Then one day we got into a fight, and somehow we stopped talking. She dumped me a day later and that was it for a week. I tried to apologize and I tried to get in touch with her, but NOTHING worked. She had looked me in the eyes only a week before and told me she loved me, and I believed her.

What should I do? I haven't been able to get her out of my mind for months and I really do miss her. I know that we all go through heartbreak but when I see her everyday in school and sometimes we even end up hanging out (some of my friends are friends with her) how am I supposed to forget?

Please Help!

Awh man, I feel like I have the same exact situation you have. Literally... I know from experience that it's very, very painful to have the girl that you practically love not want anymore than friendship from you. It's extremely difficult. All you can do, really, is continue to be her good friend..to be there when she needs you as a friend/comfort. If you give her some space for the meantime, she might fall for you all over again...just because of how relaxed you are about the breakup. If that doesn't work, then i would suggest just stayin close to her...giving her complements, maybe some flowers for her birthday...to just show her, here and there, that you are still interested, but not obsessed. Believe me, I see the girl i beleive to have had love at first site with at school every day...and it's so hard to know that she doesn't want me as much as i do her. I hope things work out and turn around for you man...because they could!!...I've been told by so many people to just move on, but it's not that simple. It's okay to have your heart set on one particular girl for a while. G"luck..
