His piercing means no kissing for 10 weeks.

Question - (18 April 2018) 4 Answers - (Newest, 21 April 2018)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend got a new lip piercing last week and said that we can't kiss for the six week healing period, which I am happily enforcing because his healing is my priority and I don't want to hinder that process in any way. Coincidentally at the end of that timeframe, I'm then off travelling for at least a month. So all together we'll have had at least 10 weeks without even a peck, even though we will see a lot of each other.

He got it without telling me, and whilst he can do what he wants with his body I do find it odd that he would willingly sacrifice our intimacy without talking to me about it first. Do you think this could be a sign that something is off? We usually kiss A LOT, and it's more important to either of us than sex. He's made plans for us over the summer in the last few days, so I don't think he's lost interest in me. But this feels like maybe he has? Very confusing, perspectives would be appreciated. Maybe I'm over analysing.

He should've gotten the piercing 2 weeks before you travel so you can kiss right when you come back!!

But don't over think this, I think you guys are doing fine! :)

aunt honesty agony auntKissing probably didn't even pop in to his head before he got the piercing. I do think you are over thinking things. Just enjoy doing other things together and the weeks will fly in.

No I just think males don't over think things the way females do. It sounds like he did it impulsively and didn't think of the timeframe. Kissing will have to be done in other places, experiment and don't over think his choice. Enjoy your travels :)

Andie's Thoughts agony auntIt's his body, so he shouldn't have to ask. You have a whole body you can each kiss without risking infections.

I know it sucks, but it's miniscule in the big scheme of things :)
