He left a year ago and went on a gap year and we started messaging again the past few months...he must have found out I liked him.His friends also message me and they keep saying that he doesn't shut up about me, yet he only sent me an email yesterday when he has been back for about two weeks...they say he is shy but I am still unsure of whether they are all having a bit of laddish fun at my expense or if he is genuine. If he is genuine will the age difference be a problem?Anyway, he is hinting that we should meet up but I am confused what to do. please give me some advice it would be much appreciated :)

Ok never ever trust friends of the guy.. they mess up everything. You definetley should talk to the guy and make sure if hes interested. Boys are very weird.. If this does work out the answer is No, the age difference isn't a problem. Many boys like younger girls and there are many relationships between 10 years of age difference. So 4 years shouldn't be a problem especially if he really likes you.
