He's driving me nuts! What should I do?

A female United Arab Emirates age 30-35, anonymous writes:

There's this guy in my school (Sounds cliche, doesn't it?) and I like him and I think that maybe, he likes me back. I'm not really sure anymore.

We used to be close (but not that CLOSE) friends but then we had an ,I guess you'd call it, fight. We didn't talk to each other for a month because I was too hurt by what he did and he started becoming close to this girl. The girl liked him, confessed her feelings to him and ZAP!

They were together. They still are.

I know that some of you would probably tell me to stop any form of communication with him because he has a gf but I just can't. I've tried really hard but I just can't do it. Maybe its because I'm a coward or because I'm really selfish. I don't know.

But recently, I've caught him staring/glancing at me. And when he sees me, sometimes he panics and ends up ignoring me. Before, when we talked, he used to stare at my eyes so deeply but now, when I catch him staring, he looks away really fast. One time, when I caught him staring, he looked away, and there was a slight blush on his cheeks (probably from the cold) and he was smiling.

He doesn't talk to me when his gf's around (he doesn't ignore me, but he'll only talk to me with a group of people). But today when me and my friend were playing basketball, he decided to join in with a pal of his.

There was a part where I was holding a ball, and he was like blocking me. He was like 'I love you.' and he hugged me for a second and then let go. I don't know if he said it because he wanted me to get distracted. He didn't say it in a joking way. But then I was like "I don't," in a small, hesitant voice and then he froze.

What should I do? He's driving me nuts! When he said it did he mean it? Or was it just to distract me?

My friend has been telling me that I love him and that was why I find it really hard to let go, but I'm not sure. I'm in age where people say that its only "puppy love" and he hardly ever crosses my mind. But then when I see him, I just start feeling all bittersweet and when I see him with his gf or a girl, I freeze up and feel like punching something.

Any advice on this matter?

Thanks for the advice. =)

I'm still wondering if he meant it though.
