He's back in my life but doesn't want to make a commitment.

Me and this guy is ten years apart I am 37 and he is 27. At first we were in a relationship living together. But I messed up and one of his friends saw me at a rehearsal with my ex boyfriend. Afterwards we broke up and he started seeing other people. I realized that I couldn't be without him and I guess he felt the same because now he is back in my life. But this time he says he Likes me but doesn't want a commitment. I asked if he wanted an open relationship and he said no. What do you guys/gals think?
