He told me she was only a friend then later admits that he had sex with her!

i met a boy via social network some 9 months ago, we became friend,then he proposed me, though at first i was negative,we met and i started liking or loving him..he told me about his past relationships including that one with one of his junior, about whom he told that the girl liked him, but he treated her as a sister,and he also asked me not to tell anything about our relationship to anyone who knows him, such as our common friends,and didn't wanted to meet me publicly or his but after few months being annoyed of his this strange behavior when i asked one of my common friends about him he told him that the upper mentioned junior is his girlfriend and they had a relationship since last two years..then i asked him about this he told me that she was not more than just a friend...i trusted him..then one day he called me and told that the girl is engaged to another boy..then he told that i can tell anyone about our relationship..everything seems ok and i started trusting him and liking him...then one month ago one evening he told me that he want to tell me everything and told that that girl and he did sex 5-6 times, i was too much shocked,and and i told him that he should told me these things at the starting of our relationship and he told that he wanted to tell me but was afraid that i might leave him after hearing this because in my culture per-marital sex is not allowed and i personally believe in this.he told he loved me so he didn't wanted to lose me.then few days later he told me that he did not love that girl but the girl was a little bit crazy(from other sources also heard that the girl was a little bit crazy)and emotionally blackmailed him to do so and he did it only 2 times..now he promised that he ll never do it in future, he want to marry me and he has no contact with that girl and even if i want to talk i can ask that girl about this and he is prepared to whatever i asked to do him for his redemption but plead me not to leave him for his this confession. but i can't trust that boy any more, and i am suffering whenever i think or imagined about those incidents but can't leave him also as i get emotionally attached to him, he is now a extremely caring, supporting, loving boyfriend, but i am not at mental peace. now i am puzzled and in a dilemma and i want to know the truth, is the boy now telling the whole truth, whether he had many relationships like this, what actually was between them, and this is not possible without a lie detector and it is out of our reach. but i am in a tormenting situation, should i ask that girl about this? or what should i do? leave him or forgive him? if forgive how should i deal it with me? plz help
