writes: Dear Cupid,The boy I like is nearly 3 years older than me (I'm 15, he's 18 in August). We've been friends for about a year and flirt loads. I was almost certain he liked me back and was getting close to telling him, when a few days ago he told me about this girl he likes who apparently likes him too. Also, she's his age. What do I do? He's really shy around girls normally, but I can't help feeling she's got a better chance than me 'cause she's older.I really like him!Help xx

reader, anonymous, writes (2 May 2007): age doesn't really matter. if he wants to go out with this other person instead of you it is most likely because he prefers her personality.the only issues there would be with age is the "sex" thing. and the fact that he might be worried what other people might think.talk to him about it. ask him if he wants you just as a friend or as more. you might as well just talk to him straight about it, don't let oppurtunities pass you by just because you were too worried to talk about it, go for it, and good luck.xx
