He either believes 1.that you are to good for him and it wont last, 2. he says things to make you believe that he thinks you dont like him as much as you do so that you keep feeding his ego, or 3. he is not ready to be in a serious relationship. Good luck with it, if you really like him do more with expression and touch than with words.
