writes: My heart is breaking, my partner and i have not been getting on for a while and we have had a temporary seperation. We have been living apart for almost 4 weeks now but he is here all the time, but yet he wont commit to the things he promised..Anyway he got paid off and is not working just now and gets some benefits which he gets on wed, he has gone and ordered himself a bike and its my birthday on thur. i have not said anything really about it but i did get very upset and started crying. He tihnks of himself only and now i will be reduced to giving my son money to buy my present.Why is he so selfish, i did however tell him not to bother as i knew had no money but a bit of effort would of been nice. He has really hurt meAm I being silly?

Sweetie, he is a selfish man and is only thinking of himself. He probably likes the idea of you being there for him for sex and food etc but he is not willing to give anything of himself to you.
You are wasting your time with him so you need to consider moving on with your life.

Obviously it is his money and obviously he is being selfish. He is not keeping any promises made and I bet you he will stay that way.
