Then he suddenly stopped talking to me for almost 2 weeks or so. The past 2 days, he started to approach me again,he gives me a grin and makes eye contact alot.. We were in a group and once i glanced at him he gave me a quick wink. Today i was walking with my friend and were chatting, and that guy was right behind us and he suddenly just joined the conversation and walked next to me and he tried to impress by saying he could do this and that. A few hours later, he was with his friends and he gave me a wink once i glanced at him, and created a nickname for me and he started calling me with this name the whole time. While we were at the lecture, i was staring at him and he caught me looking at him and a moment later he called me with that nickname and smiled. Do you think that he likes me? I'm interested in him and im trying to get him to hang out with me more but i dont want to seem desperate or needy. My friends always tell me that he seems to like me because of the way he was staring at me for so long and the way he acts but im just not that convinced. Do you have any advice? And did he tried to test me when he hadnt talked to me during these 2 weeks to see my reaction?

But what would you call him!
Often it is an abbreviation of the real name..or just a short form of a characteristic or prearranged catchy kind of name type thing.
Do you really like this guy?
I just dont understand why you are so hesitant unless youve been burned before.
This guy wants to ask you out i think and the nickname is his way of making it all seem friendly fun in case you are not interested.
I wish i knew his nickname but for now i will call him riddex!
And no, that is not the name of a jamaican condom as far as i know but you do have to watch out for the meaning people attach to a name.

When something changes people often think it is their fault. When the young man stopped flirting for two weeks it was probably something in his life that was distracting him. Who knows? It could have been anything - bereavement, other bad news, work, anything.
I think a good way forward for you is to get your friend to ask his friend if he likes you. Then if it's a go he can arrange to take you out. Easy-peasy.
