 Of course he doesn't have to have a girlfriend, firstly he may not see himself as good looking so doesn't realise anyone fancies him or has the confidence to ask anyone out.
Or he has plenty of confidence and is enjoying being single, or he just hasn't found the one he wants to date yet.
Just because he is good looking doesn't mean he doesn't have all the same feelings and insecurities you do, I mean for all I know you could be gorgeous and he is worried about the same thing - "she's gorgeous but she'd never date a ginger guy! and I bet she has a boyfriend"
So why don't you try some flirting and find out if he has a girlfriend?
