You have to ask yourself if your relationship is strong enough to endure the whole, long distance thing. Can he be trusted on campus far, far away, where there are lots of other single, college girls looking for guys to party with and hang out? If you feel comfortable enough in your relationship then don't go. But you need to be prepared to face the possibility that it could be the end of what you have. In that case, you have to ask yourself if your friends and family will be enough? Only you can decide what's best. Hope it works out.

My advice would be go and try it for say a month if you hate it you can say youve tried, but 6yrs is along time to not try it!
Im sure your family will be supportive!
best of luck! x
