I hope by my posting this reply more people will join in. I'm all for educational projects and I wish you the best of luck with yours.

We don't use polythene/plastic bags in our city.It is banned by the government.I carry a cloth bag when I go out for shopping.
We travel by public transport. We never litter anywhere. We carry a small bag again for putting the chocolate wrappers and so on while we go traveling.Though there are no laws in India for punishing litterers my mother in law taught me that change comes from a single step from a single person. So I religiously follow it.I will make my son follow it in the future as well.
My friends from office have a car pool so that all of us don't drive 5 to 6 cars and there by increase the air pollution.
I hope you get a lot more answers for your survey. All the best.

Undoubtedly the levels of Co2 in the atmosphere are getting higher and the ice caps are retreating, but I wonder if it's caused by chimneys belching out fumes, the cutting down of rain forest, the natural cycle of events or a combination of these things.
It's a known fact that the Mediterranean Sea has dried out completely and flooded again several times in the long-distant past, the proof of which is salt deposits on the sea floor hundreds of feet thick - much the same as is happening in the Dead Sea now - so there must have been very hot periods as well as cold wet periods in the past.
As far as governments are concerned it seems to me they're just using the argument as a way of increasing taxes.
I'm all in favour of anything that saves me money, and you could say I've 'gone green' to a certain extent by turning down the central heating thermostat, fitting energy-efficient light bulbs and using the car a lot less, but these actions are brought about by financial necessity rather than any desire to save the world.
I'll be long gone before armageddon happens unless reincarnation is also a reality, so I'm not overly concerned - not yet anyway.

If we want to change our actions, it will take much longer than buying a green reusable bag from the local grocery store.
