I'm seeing a girl and have been for around 4 months now.

The problem is, she works with my mum and was my sisters best friend. However lately I've been told various things that have made me think about the whole relationship.

First of all the girl I'm with doesn't seem to contact my sister any more, so my sister now thinks she has snubbed her since she has been going out with me.

Second thing is that she talks about us at work infront of my mum and things that we do, for example things that happen in bed etc... which my mum should not be hearing.

My mum and others are afraid that this girl is possibly trying to perhaps plan to get pregant and maybe trap me. (this is the worry of my family, not myself) but from now I have been feeling down about the whole thing. I feel as though I've got into something I wish I hadn't.

Can anyone offer any advice on which route to take.

A reader, Lolly, writes (12 February 2005):

Have you spoken to your girlfriend about any of this? She may not realise that talking about your love life in front of your mother is a problem, and may even see that as a way of becoming closer to your mum. As for your sister, if the family view is that your girlfriend is trying to trap you it is possible that some negative vibes are being picked up by your girlfriend, making her reluctant to contact your sister. These are things that you will only know by communicating with your girl! At the end of the day, if you love her and want to be with her, stay. If not, it's time to re-evaluate your relationship.
