A female Turkey age 41-50, Elisiance writes:

The word sensual refers to the senses -- meaning sight, taste, sound and smell…as well as touch. So sensuality isn’t just about sex. It’s about tasting, smelling, hearing and seeing the world around you, and throwing yourself into the things that make you feel good.

How you can best get in touch with your sensuality can involve any or all of your senses. So we’ll start with the most obvious sense when we think of sensuality -- the sense of touch. Sexual touch is only part of the story. Using your hands to paint or to sculpt, or to touch the earth in your garden, can also be a sensual experience. So is using the body beyond the hands. Dancing, exercising and even walking on a beach can all bring sensuality into your life.

Our visual sense can mean something as simple as looking at great art or at the beauty of nature can be sensual. Creating art yourself can also be a great sensual outlet, even if you don’t think you’re particularly artistic. Taking the time to simply play with color, texture and shape and see how they blend together can be a sensual experience.

For those particularly in tune with their senses of taste and smell, cooking can be sensual as well. Think of the smell of garlic and oregano simmering in an Italian kitchen, or the spicy curries of Thai and Indian food. People who love to cook use all their creativity and passion to create food for themselves and the people they love. Both the process of preparing and the pleasure of eating that food is definitely sensual!

Finally, our ears can also bring more sensuality into our lives. Think of how you feel when you listen to your favorite music. Whether it’s the smooth sounds of jazz, the intricate melodies of classical or the pulsating beat of techno, hearing the music we love makes us feel good. And feeling good is what sensuality is all about.

So getting in touch with your sensuality is as simple as figuring out what you’re passionate about and bringing those things into your life. Creativity, passion and sensuality are all interconnected – so the more fully you live your life, the more sensual and passionate a person you will be.
