Family doesn't want me to be with him because he's not rich

I am 26 years old.My boyfriend and i have been in a seroius relationship since 2005.My mom and my sister don´t want me to be with him because he is not rich.A week ago,my boyfriend told me to go to Portugal to go live with him but first i should talk to my mom.I told him that i can´t talk to her because she will yell at me if i tell her that i am going to live with my boyfriend.She is very cruel.Should i talk to her?or should i leave her a note and pack my stuff and leave?
