Hey there
I think that its best if you leave this well alone.. You might loose your friend throughout this if you go ahead and anything happens with the both of you...
It doesnt matter that you dont want to hurt anyone I understand but the friend wont.. He will still get hurt as he not only loosing his girlfriend, but his best mate aswell...
If you are seriously considering this though please do make sure she does feel the same...
Best wishes and good luck

Why is it that she feels the same? She is not happy with being with your mate by the sounds of it. How long have they been together now? Really this is a no-go area to be honest. If you are not really that good friends with him then you may not have anything to lose in telling him how you feel towards his g/f (accept the consequences...big fight/argument, not friends anymore!!) But do remember though that friends are always there where as reltionshios come and go. I don't think it's worth it really..
