I was with my son's father for 10 yrs. He went to prison and I met someone new, who treats me alot better than my ex did. I really love this new guy and want to marry him, but I can't seem to get over my ex. What is wrong with me??

Hi,it sounds like you are a lot happier in your new relationship and know that he is better for you but you still cant get over your ex. Ten years is a long time and the bond of having a child together is often a reason why you feel you still have feelings for an ex. But i think that you are moving forward in your life with someone who you feel treats you so much better. As i said ten years is a long time to be with someone, also that you must have been quite young when you met him so you have been used to being treated that way. You are not used to being treated better and so possibly you feel more comfortable with your ex?

If this is so then remember you do deserve to have a good loving relationship and the choice you have is do you leave your ex in the past or do you have a future with a man who sounds to be someone who will treat you with the respect you deserve?
