writes:There’s this girl that I like a LOT. I’ve tired to see if she likes me and came up with no. We know each other for about 6 months. We talk every day for hours. She doesn’t really talk actually neither of us really talk. I’ve pretty much taken the best friend/brother roll and I like being this close to her but I still like her. I know that I make her happy so I figured it would be better if she was happy rather than keep trying to get her to love me. Better to have the person you love be happy than them to love you back I guess. I’m just not shore if I should stay friends with her because I still like her. I want her to be happy but the more I’m with her and learn things about her and talk to her or just in any way shape or form be with her I just get more in love. I’m a close friend now so if I stopped being with her she would be sad and all I want is for her to never be sad. but I also feel like if I stay in this friendship I’m just going to be chasing after someone I have not even a slight chance with and I don’t want to spend all my time doing that. Why would you want to be with the person you love if they don’t love you, I’ll never be able to find someone else because I’ll be stuck on her. I just feel like I can’t keep this friendship up because if how I feel. But also I don’t ever want anything to happen to her and if I cause her to be sad will probably be sadder then I’ve ever been. I don’t know what to do I love her but she will never love me the same way so why keep being around her if all I get out of it is more love for her. But if I made her sad I don’t think I would ever be able to live it down.

I must say I have been in that situation myself. In this case I'm the girl that you are chasing. This guy I've known for 5 years now... and he is my bestest guy friend.
He told me he loved me, but I told him I did not feel the same way about him. Sometimes i feel bad that I was just a friend to him and not more, but you know, i gained something. I gained a lifetime friend. I know he liked me for a very long time, but i just don't see him more than a friend. I know exactly how you feel because he told me the same thing you're saying. Just respect her wishes and be a friend to her hun. You may get her because she might get boyfriends, but think about it, she will always have you as a friend... Someone she could ask for advice, help, a shoulder to cry on, and so on.
And maybe in the future she would realize that you are the one.
Don't give up, and give her some time.
You are still young and you have so much to offer.
