Does seeing my friends bother my boyfriend?

A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Is my enthusiasm for seeing my friends bothering my boyfriend? When we plan to spend time with our friends..separately I say things we're doing blah, blah and add an exclamation point!

But that's just who I am..a positive gal! And he knows this, I think.:)

His response is something like 'Ok, that sounds good.' So, should I change my whole attitude towards this or keep acting the same way?

ArmyMedic agony aunt"OK that sounds good" means exactly that!

Are you really that "Positive" as thinking about changing your whole life style due to an off hand comment sounds a little insecure to me.

I know you won't like to hear this but when you hang out with your friends means he can spend some valuable time on his XBOX/PS3/Wii, or doing some other boy thing by himself.

I like when my wife goes out as she is happy, sees her friends and we can talk about what she has got upto and I can wipe out an alien race with out justifying it to her!

This is THE worst case of a girl trying to over-analyse meaning out of some poor guy that I have ever seen on dearcupid.

He said "Ok, have fun" and you are here asking us what he means by this and if you should change your personality and social life because of this comment?????

Have you heard yourself?

Seriously. He meant "That sounds good." He was agreeing with you that your plans sound fun. He DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING ELSE. He probably just doesn't really care about all the tiny details of your shopping trip.

I seriously think you have to ask yourself why you are so terrified of upsetting him that you would read so much into this.

Do you have low self esteem? Does he play mind games and has he said something like this in the past and then got all moody afterwards claiming you should have known what he was thinking?

I really don't understand how you can read so much into this one tiny comment.

Good Luck!! xx
