The reason I asked about being sexually active is sometimes an abrasion can happen and you can bleed, but you are bleeding more then that, but this much bleeding can go from infection, to an STD, now what I mean is, there are a number of things that can be wrong, and I once again, really highly recommend you see a gynecologist, in the world of health, the sooner it's caught, the better it can be treated! :-)

I think when it comes to your genitals it's always best to get an expert opinion. Anyone answering on here can only speculate.

When did you first notice it? Have you been sexually active recently? dark red/black thick discharges could be old blood. I highly recommend going to a doctor.

Ummm...Maybe it's blood from your cycle{your period}. Maybe if you're just getting off of your cycle it's discharge that hasn't become it's regular color because the remaining blood{from your period} is coming out with it. Don't worry everything will be fine. {Hope I helped.}

It could be a number of things. Are you on the Pill? If so, spotting can be normal between periods, especially if you have just started taking the Pill. Not sure if spotting is caused by other contraceptives, as I have not tried them, but this is also possible. Also, if you are expecting your period in the coming week, or have just finished a period, your body could just be discharging old blood, which often has the texture and color you describe. Another cause for red/brown discharge is pregnancy. Often, in the first few weeks of pregnancy, a woman can experience spotting that is red/brown/pink, often mistaken for a period but is really too light to be considered so. This spotting is a sign of implantation of the fertilized egg in your uterine lining, which often causes the expulsion of old blood in the uterus. Implantation spotting is one of the earliest signs of pregnancy.
If you know you can't be pregnant, then the spotting should clear up in a couple of days. If it persists, I would see a doctor. Also, if you are or could be pregnant, I would also recommend you see a doctor. Good luck!

it sounds like blood. If you are not do for a period then you need to go see a doctor so the can find out what is going on. I'm going through the same thing and my doctor thinks i have an ovarian cyst I just have to wait for an ultra sound. It could be a lot of things so go see a doctor!
