Yes. I feel alot of sexual desire during my period, sometimes even more than usual. I think it all just depends on the woman and her body.

I lose a lot of blood and feel very sensitive down there, so the idea of sex is off-putting to me and I don't feel sexual at all. But just after my period, once it has finished or nearly finished, my sexual desire goes through the roof and I feel very sexual.
I am not sure why you think your periods are abnormal, but if you are concerned for whatever reason it might be worth seeing a doctor or nurse to talk to them about it, and get some reassurance.
