I was recently shocked to find out that a very attractive male acquaintance of mine had a one night stand with a very unattractive woman. This has left me completely perplexed, since I've seen this guy go home with beautiful women. Plus, I always thought the whole purpose of a fling was to sleep with someone you're lusting after. My female friends say that men will sleep with anyone. Is this true?

Sometimes, they are better in bed and make more of an effort. But when it comes to dating, i date the more attractive ones because i need to be be excited about sleeping with only her even 5 years later.

However being attractive doesn't mean a woman is more alluring... and what one person sees as unattractive may be gorgeous in another's eyes.
Sex appeal comes in many forms and looks are only part of that.
Maybe this guy isn't shallow and is mature enough to make his own choices based on his own gut feelings and attractions?

But I'm not talking about a relationship, I'm talking about a true one night stand. This guy never met this woman before and he'll never see her again. They met towards the end of the night, so conversation was limited.
(My husband I were with the said guy for three hours at a bar, we left an hour before closing and then they started talking.) She was objectively very unattractive and my acquaintance is a very good looking man. Either way, I'm just curious about what men think about one night stands, not what women think about them (that I already know).

And a woman being less attractive doesn't make her a bad bed fellow, who knows she might have some serious skills OR her personality is attractive.
I have seen GORGEOUS girls date/sleep with really non-attractive guys so why can't it go the other way too?
You do know that there is more to people them how they look, right?
