reader, anonymous, writes (15 February 2007): It wouldn't benefit you to not tell her. So you might as well. Unless you fear awkwardness, but it's not like you two are related to each other in any way except she's the teacher of your child.

Yes you should tell her who you are, put yopurself in her shoes, wouold you want to know if someone was sending you messages who an earth it was.
Is the problem here because you find her attractive? If so take it slowly, say hi tell her who you are and build on the relationship from there.
