A female United Kingdom age 26-29, *ptonGirl writes:

A few weeks ago my friend shane told me that he fancied me and then last monday he asked me out. he told my friends that he loved me and everything and when we were together we were always hugging in a romantic way. but a few girls started to get a bit jealous and i was panicked that one of them was gonna say something to shane, i talked to shane about it and he said it would never happen cos he don`t want to leave me. but on thursday he wrote me a note saying that he can`t be my boyfriend anymore as he loved me on monday but since then the love is faded. but he was romantic with me all week. when my best friend Sadey told shane i was upset he looked really upset and guilty. my friends think that he didn`t mean the things he said in the note and that someone has said something to him or put him under pressure.

And one of the girls that was jealous of me and shanes relationship, her names chloe, didn`t talk to me all day. plus my friends say that the things he wrote in the note sound nothing like something he would say.

Did Chloe say something to him ?

Does Shane still love me ?

please help A.S.A.P

DrPsych agony auntSo he 'loved' you on Monday but not by the end of the week...ahhh teenage boys have the attention span of a goldfish when it comes to romance. He is a coward if he is dumping you by note. If your friend did say something to him, he is weak if he made a judgement about you on the basis of what was said. Don't blame your friend's for what has happened. Focus the blame on your ex-boyfriend. He probably liked the chase, but once he got you as his girlfriend he lost interest. This is not too uncommon in teenage boys. Move on!
