We haven't been in contact for years and then when his dad died we swapped mobile numbers and keep up to date on a chat site. One day I text him to say that my hubby and I were celebrating ten years of marriage and he text me back to say congratulations and that him and his partner were going through a tough time and only time would tell. When I told this to my hubby he thought it was an odd comment for my cousin to make. I said that I didn't think it was odd and that he was just telling it me in a friendly way. When I asked a male friend what he thought of it he thought that my cousin was probably jealous and attention seeking.I find this odd because I don't feel my cousin comes across as this. To me I am just pleased that he was able to tell me something like that. He hasn't really mentioned anything since unless I ask how things are with him.Would you find it odd if a cousin who you weren't that close to said that to you.

I don't have any advise on what you should do but that didn't sound weird to me at all!! He was just being polite and friendly and giving you an update on how his marraige is going, in reply to yours.
Nothing strange about that...
