On this week's Monday though,he began ignoring me entirely such as no staring or even noticing me.We would only see each other in lunch and he never talked to me even if he was standing close. The regretful part though was I was really shy so I didn't know how to act around him,i couldn't make eye contact or smile at him when he did.I would only secretly stare at him from afar when he wasn't looking and sometimes when I feel courageous enough,i would let him catch me staring at him and hope he would take the hint but he never did.My friend though also likes him so I really don't know if I should give up my friendship to date him.He ignores me now may also be because I couldn't act on my feelings and I was overwhelmed by shyness so I couldn't show any signals and it might made him think I was not interested.I really want to go up to him and ask if he did used to like me and if he still does but I can't get the nerve to do anything so it turned out him ignoring me and me ignoring him.He still hasn't had a girlfriend yet but I feel he has moved on and gave up trying. My heart really hurts and I keep remembering him and regretting the fact I didn't do anything when I had the chance.Should I move on and learn from my dumb mistake or should I do something? And could there still be a chance he still likes me?

What I'm reading is, the only contact youve had with this guy is he is smiling and staring at you initially. I'm thinking you could be reading far too much in to this as far as anything coming of this. If he wants more he would have made a move on you by now I'm sure. I'm thinking that you have a crush on him. He could have just been friendly when he was smiling but maybe you were staring a bit too much and unnerved him. He may have got to the stage of being a bit embarrassed by it all. I wouldnt say anything to him.
