Im a registered ASCP CLS, and the answer to your question is he wont get EBV if you have oral sex, but it would be best to wait it out a while, just because I haven't seen anycases of EBV due to oral sex doesnt mean it cant happen.

reader, anonymous, writes (15 November 2007): Mononucleosis (Epstein-Barr virus) is a contageous contact disease and it is usually caught by sharing of saliva. It is sometimes known as the kissing disease for this reason. In answer to your question any contact that involves the possible exchange of bodily fluids is probably not a great idea. If he was to contract mono then it would take 4-6 weeks before he would see any effects and as mono usually is only contageous for a few weeks I am sure you will beable to hold back til then. Physical activity that will definately not give it to him - holding hands!
