 If there are any sores (lesions) in or around his penis - and any sores in or around your mouth - then sure.
There are also the things you can't see (like some STI's). If you really want to be careful next time, buy flavored condoms so that you really decrease the risk of possible infections. And even if he's only been with one woman before you, there is still the possibility of him having an STI - so be careful.

A lot will depend upon his hygiene habits and who he's been with before you. If no-one, or he's recently been checked out by the medical profession and he takes care of himself 'down there' then I'm sure you'll be ok.
