He keeps telling me about girls flirting with him, and since he started hitting the gym again I'm wondering if I'm in his league anymore. It’s stupid; he’s a total sweetheart and obviously is still attracted to me, but I keep feeling un-hot, lazy and let’s face it, a bit unworthy. How can I feel better about myself so that I don’t hate myself as much? I don’t want to be a snarling harpy or a snivelling wretch; I want to be confident and happy.

I think what anon meant was that you should take good care of your body and health so that you don't feel unworthy or lazy. Exercise more, eat better and you will no longer feel inferior to your man who clearly takes care of himself.
Just because girls are flirting with him, does not mean that he is flirting back or is interested. He is probably trying to make you jealous, and to show you what a catch he is. It's common for men to gloat about this sort of thing.
At any rate, the problem you have is yours alone- he is not responsible for your feelings of being unworthy. take care of yourself.
