A female United States age 36-40, *Bubbles writes:

I feel like confused because I don't know what career will suit me. I love looking at fashion magazines, when I was young I wanted to be a model but since I'm 5 1/2 in height and they want girls that are 5'9; I am a little down but I still love fashion and know that there are other jobs involving fashion. I also enjoy watching cooking shows and looking at recipes from cookbooks, online and magazines too ; I even search the internet for recipes too though I don't have any culinary skills. I am stuck here; trying to think what will be better for me Fashion, Culinary or both.Is it alright to feel this way?

aunt honesty agony auntOf course it is ok to feel like this we all go through our life wondering what career will suit us or if we have made the right choices in life but we all learn from our experience, why not visit a local career guidance centre where they can point you in the right direction you could make do a course in fashion at college or equally in something to do with cooking, just take your time and weigh out your options maybe go to your local college/universaty and see what courses they have to offer and look through the choices and you will hopefully see one that stands out to you and you would love to do, then get started on your career path, and not to worry if you figure out that it is not you after all you can always change your mind, good luck in the future.

Even being short, you can still model, just not runway (I am 5'1", 96 lbs, and have been modeling since - was 17-- magazine ads, etc) but it is very hard to get into. However, there are lots of jobs in the fashion industry-- buyers, merchandizers, stylists, even designing if you have an eye for it! Glad to see someone doing what they love! Good luck!
